Hi, guys
I've downloaded&installed JBoss2.4 and Tomcat3.2 separately. How can I configure JBoss to run with Tomcat? Documentation doesn't explain it in detail.
Thanx in advance,

Add this line --
<MLET CODE = "org.jboss.tomcat.TomcatService" ARCHIVE="jboss.jar" CODEBASE="../lib/ext/">
</MLET>
at the end of the file jboss.conf .
In order for jBoss to find Tomcat's classes, you need to set a couple of environment variables :
TOMCAT_HOME must point to the base directory of Tomcat's binaries. Typically, if you built Tomcat from jakarta/jakarta-tomcat, TOMCAT_HOME should point to jakarta/build/tomcat.
SERVLETAPI_HOME must point to the source directory "jakarta-servletapi". The file $SERVLETAPI_HOME/lib/servlet.jar will be required.
Your CLASSPATH must contain $JAVA_HOME/lib/tools.jar since Tomcat needs this to compile JSPs.
Note that all these requirements are those of Tomcat. If you fail in any of these, you won't be able to start Tomcat in jBoss VM.
Hope this helps.

But there's no org.jboss.tomcat.* package in my jboss.jar archive.

Arijit,
If you have problems with org.jboss.tomcat.*, then you had to download JBoss+Tomcat- bundled version, together. In this version everything is already configured.
Thanx,

Personally its not something I'd do. I'd download the combined version from the Jboss site. They've even discontinued the HOWTO
If you absolutely have to do it yourself by hand, its covered in the book "JBoss Administration and Development" from the JBoss team.

Hi Dave, Jamal
Yeah right I have downloaded the bumdled package. But I was just curious to know that how can I have my tomcat started automatically when I start JBOSS. (Assuming I have sepaarte JBOSS and TOMCAT)
What the book probably suggests, Dave, is that how to download the source code and then using ANT to build the things. However, I am interested in downloading the binaries and have some classpath or something set somewhere in some configuration file, so that TOMCAT starts automatically, INTEGRATED with JBOSS.
