findByPrimaryKey() method in Entity Bean  RSS feed

Hi all,
does the findByPrimaryKey() method of EntityBean locks a particular row in the table.
if so why?

It could do, depending on how the EJB container runs the query, and depending on how the underlying database is setup.
Is there something specific that you are having trouble with?

Will this findByPrimaryKey method pick up data from the cache or fire a new request to the database to get the data??
