What actually does the <reentrant> in the ejb-jar.xml specify ?

True or False, if the loopback is supported or not.

Session beans can never be reentrant otherwise an exception will be thrown if a loopback is attempted. Entity beans(nonreentrant) will also throw an exception if a loopback is attempted. You can make entity beans reentrant but this is discourged per specification.

Loopback
when a thread re-enters a bean where it has already entered....e.g client invokes bean A which invokes bean B, Now if bean B invokes A , we say that it has looped back.
This is not allowed 'cuz in ejb it is illegal for the thread of control to reenter the bean instance.
Refer pg 63-63 of O'reilly book if u have.
