I encounted two ejb question as follows:
1, I have a table which has some fields must to be "not null", and this table has a primary key. when I make a CMP ejb from this table, the ejb has a ejb_create method with only one parameter(the primary key). so the question is when I use the ejb_create method to create a record, what will happen to those "not null" fields? or I must modify the ejb_create method.
2, I have another table with has a Clob field, because Clob is too boring, I want to change it to the String type, in JBuilder, it's quite simple. but I don't know if this will works well.
any help is appricate.

How are you generating CMP EJB? create method of EJB should have all the columns (irrespective of their state - null/not null). If create is not taking these columns you need to add them.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
