Hi there,
I am currently trying to improve logging and tracing capabilities of a ditributed system, jsp frontend -- ejb business server -- workflow server -- database server ......
Could anyone suggest a pattern (and some practical examples...am I being cheeky enough now... ) that could be applied to a system that would allow to trace the session accross all these servers.
I know so far how to trace the session from the Http request object accross to the servlet and on the business server. However it the services that are kicked off at this point on other remote servers by EJB that I am not sure I will be able to pass the sessionID in??? like workflows external comps etc.... how do I get them to carry this session.
Do you think there is an alternative design that I should use to enforce logging a sesssion/id
accross all the ditributed systems.
Any ideas would be much appreciated ....
Cheers in advance for your time
Eibhlis

Hi "eibhlis",
Thanks for joining JavaRanch, but could you just take a quick look at the naming policy and edit your profile accordingly.
Thanks!
Simon
