I would like to run J2EE on my PC in order to learn the various technologies. I have a problem: my PC has Windows XP on it, but J2EE requires Windows 2000. I would like to set up a Windows 2000/XP dual boot on my PC, but I have no idea where to get Windows 2000 or how to set up the dual boot. Please help.
Microsoft's website does provide some vague guidelines for setting up a dual boot, but I'm looking for more detail than it provides.
Thanks
Fitzryan

You'll be pleased to know that the J2EE RI runs fine on XP.

Thanks for the info. That's odd that the XP support isn't mentioned on Sun's J2EE download page. I hope that I can also find a web server, EJB server, and database that run on XP.

The J2EE reference implementation that you can download from the Sun site is a full application server so it's all that you need to get started. Apart from the JDK of course! ;-)
It also comes with a database for development usage.

Why dual boot when you can use tools like VMWare? I use it and have found it a great product.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
