This week's book giveaway is in the Agile and Other Processes forum. We're giving away four copies of Real-World Software Development: A Project-Driven Guide to Fundamentals in Java and have Dr. Raoul-Gabriel Urma & Richard Warburton on-line! See this thread for details.
J2EE 1.3 (the new version) is Container for EJB's and servlets as it includes the latest version of tomcat. DO I need to download any separate API's for EJB's to be implemented. (I have the J2SE). Using WebLogic as my Application server; do I still need to down load Tomcat and/or J2EE? - if so what is the major difference between Weblogic and J2EE I am learning the whole process hence my questions? (which may seem fairly basic). Thanks Jawahar Rajan
j2ee is a platform, and j2me,jese is other 2 versions of java platform, that is to say: Sun reorganized the java platform into three profiles: 1.j2me,for handheld and other lower-end devices 2.j2se,targedted at desktop machines 3.j2ee,installed on servers and responsible for the heavy lifting in the java world
