Hi all-
We've developed a set of BMP entity beans in WSAD 4.03 (using DB 7.2 underneath) and we are now running out of DB2 app heap (SQL error 0954C-57011). We've upped the heap size but still get the problem so the next suggestion is to use autocommit=true on the getConnection in each bean. However, if we do that, then we get JTA exceptions saying we can't use autocommit=true.
So my question is: how do I set transaction levels for entity beans so that they always commit after every SQL statement (including reads)?
Do I set the descriptors to 'notsupported' for transaction attributes?
thanks in advance,
max Tomlinson

Ok, so I answered my own question:
The way to set database connections to autocommit=true under WebSphere 4.0 using bean managed entity beans is through the deployment descriptor for the bean. The simplest setting is a) method=unspecified (i.e. all methods) b) transaction type=not supported (i.e. no transactional processing). This defaults the bean's jdbc connections to autocommit=true.
