I've dealt with Oracle for quite a while now. This is one of those marketing strategies to push up the number of app server license sold. Yes, the figure may be true....but 9iAS contains a lot of stuff. I mean, you may buy it even though you're not interested in J2EE. For example, TopLink, Oracle Forms, Reports, etc. I think the proper product that you wanna see is Oracle 9iAS OC4J. Last I heard they are still under Release 2.
