Hi Steffy
It depends on what u actually want to do.If u want to develop EJBs(i assume coz u have asked it in an ejb forum)u can use JBoss which is a simple application server which u can download from www.jboss.org and if u want an ide u can go for oracle JDeveloper 9i which is also free and of course the basic need in a j2se..

adding to sethu's reply , u could try even pramathi , they have got both the ide as well the server package, the ide of pramathi would create the deployment descriptors for u as well, other than that it is ejb2.0 complient.. u could deploy the ejb's on the pramathi applicvation server as well. Another advantage would be you could port the application to both weblogic as well as websphere

why not use directly a good IDE for j2ee like the Sun fffj , i.e. Sun ONE platform...
