Folks,

Do you have any idea on Google's selection process?
Is there any written test before interview?
How many rounds of interviews and how in depth it will be?

Please share your experiences.

Regards,
Sam

Yes,There is an written test...which is a mix of both objective and Subjective(programming) questions....

If you are through the test you need to attend around 7-9 rounds of interviews in Google office,Hyderabad or Bangalore.........The emphasis will be on complex data structures and algorithms....You need to be very very strong in all your basic fundas related to computing....

And if you manage to clear even all the round you will not get the final word immediately..They take even 3-4 months to convey their final decision..Two of my classmates got through all the round got a unofficial word from the HR that they are througth but didn't get any offical confirmation from them for more than 2 months...At last, they got pissed off and joined my company....

It looks like the US office of Google has the final say on recruitment related stuff...and the Indian HR's dont enjoy decision making authority....

I had a very different interview process. Someone from Google HR called me and asked me a few questions by phone. Then I spoke with the hiring manager by phone. Then I was flown in for a day long interview. That was it. Nothing written and only one round in person.

I am located in the US. Overseas offices may have a difference process.

As you have seen my other posts i am looking to move out from US and I applying for jobs in India and I have same issue ,Indian companies interview process unncessarily complicated .That shows either they don't have proper person to take interview or lack decision making ability .
To select or reject a person you have 1-2 or round is sufficent .
maximum 3 round mostly just formality . But i have differnt cases one Mumbai based company (US Investment bank) conducted 5 interviews for a month .And after fifth they gave reason "requirement mismatch" ...I called HR and took her class ,Do you need 5 interviews to understand requirement and candidate profile matches or not ?

Desi HR and techies simply waste time .
