I am interested in marketability.
I am thinking of intalling either Webshpere or JBoss and getting up to speed on an application server. Which server would you recommend?

If you are a beginner , my sincere advice is to start with JBoss. In order to get used to Websphere Application Server , you have to go through tons on documentation if you don't have somebody(WAS expert) sitting beside you to guide you on WAS. You can go to http://www.theserverside.com to read reviews on various application servers.

I'd say give oc4j a try too. There is nothing special about it but it has a huge market share despite what BEA says.
