Regarding the Concurrency Issues

This is regarding the ejb2.1 specifications.In the chapter 10 section 10.5.11 I can find that there are two ways the container can handle
synchronization techniques.Both shown diagramitically on figure 28 and 29.
If there are 10 clietns accessing the EJB then how many EJB objects will be created?
I had idea that for each client access there gets one EJB Object generated but I found this not always happening , I can see in the figures that clients sharing the same EJB object.
Can you clarify under which condition this will occur,a detailed answer would be appericiated..
