Hi Alfred,
But the cheap pay masters like infy,Tcs,Cts pay you well if they send you onsite.....So try negotiating for an onsite assignment...

That should offset any difference in the pay package...Besides you get international exposure....

if u are having 2+ j2ee experience and looking for 5+ (LPA) package then CTS,WIPRO is not for you.

you might expect that much salary for 3+ exp probabily.

anyway, actually they are the bulk recruiters and they hire many people withe less packages.....they want high manpower.

I don't know about others, but certainly Oracle doesn't pay this much. It's 5 LPA for 2 years.

my friends started their career as a freshers in oracle with 4.2 LPA....i dont know how much they are gettinh now after 2 yrs...because i dont have any contact now.

i got a call from oracle too. they told they would provide 50% hike....but i did not like the work....in fact they were doing PL/SQL work.

I wish to continue my career in java/j2ee.

Yes, I think, you are right. They gives 50% hike. My friend got 5 LPA because his current was around 2.5 LPA for 2 years.

And yes, they do give around 4 LPA for fresher.

Alfred,

i2 is a supply chain management company....It was once a very good pay master...I did my internship in i2....The work culture is relaxed and it is a employee friendly company.....Some time back they even had a order management system in each and every employees desktop. The employees can order pizzas and i2 would pay for that...But people started misusing ..lot of stuff used to go waste and people started ordering and taking it home...Then they stopped it....

The reason I left i2 was I felt I could end up working in some properitery stuff like BPE framework and Ros which were developed by i2...Besides it looked like there are other better companies lined for the final placements in my favourite domains.....My decision was not a well thought out decision but just an impulsive decision...I decided to take a risk and give a shot to other companies....

But the only downside now for i2 is financially they not doing that well...They took some wrong decisions like buying a company called aspect for 9 billion $ in 2000..That was one of the biggest deal in the software history...

But still the 6 months I spent in i2 was a good experience

That's a good research done. I know talentica. I had an offer from them sometime back. I had 2 yrs exp at that time and they offered me 5+. Not a great pay, but still very good in Pune. I know Amberpoint and Netscout both pay very well as and they are in top pay bracket in Pune.

I attended SAP labs interview last weekend when they were in Pune. They interviewed me in core java, c, and some basic n/w stuff. I asked what the work is . They said they have some billing or inventory related handheld instrument and a middleware to support it. The entire work is going to be in core java. They do not use j2ee.

I do not know but there may be other products which would use j2ee.

I did not go that far in the interview for salary negotiations. I attended only one round of technical interviews and backed out of the second round when they said there is no J2EE profile.

It's is a very good company but for me job profile is more important than just a big company name. I do not know the exact salary details for freshers. But they pay very well. So 4.7 for freshers could be possible.
