What do I have to do to access a datasource from my stateless session bean? I got CMP Entity bean working in JBOSS 3.0.4 but I can not get access to the datasource from my session bean. I have even figured out how to access the entity bean from the session bean, but I still cant figure out what I need to do to access the datasource.
I am using
1. mysql
2. jboss 3.0.4
3. xdoclet 1.2.0 beta 1
4. Sun One Studio community edition (thinking of changing to netbeans)
So what do I need in my descriptors?
Personally Ijust dont understand what JNDI is doing and the 2 different ways I am using names. I dont know how all this ejb references stuff works...

I think I got it now. I had to get the new xdoclet working. 1.1.2 is not sufficient really, and confusing at best. 1.2.0 beta 1 is good enough.

Hello CL Gilbert,
Could you share with us how do u developed ejbs with Sun One Studio 4 Community Edition? If not mistaken it dosen't support ejb bulder? Do u create them from scratch without help from ejb builder? Is it possible to plugin the ejb builder nbm module to allow community edition ot have this capability? If so where can i get the ejb builder nbm? How do you find Sun One Studio 4? is it ok?
Thanks
Ras

RAW.
I use notepad man!
Just kidding. I am using xdoclet so it auto generates all my source files for me, and my descriptors too. I just have to put in certain comments on my main classes.
Then I am using ant to compile them. But I have to use ant 1.5 which Sun One does not use so I had to stop using Sun One's, but NetBeans does have the ant 1.5.

So in summary I am barely using Sun One. I edit the files, hit save all, then at my dos prompt I execute Ant through a batch file which compiles all my classes. I swear this is a Linux conspiracy to get me back to the command line
I am using Sun One to debug though. I havent been too successful with JBoss debugging because its not jumping to the right lines sometimes.
I am going to convert to NetBeans one day since its development is more leading edge than Sun One.
I dont have ANY EJB tools per se. They always cost over $1000 when they don't do anything more than xdoclet is doing for me anyway....
