When an application error (java.lang.Error is raised somewhere by the business logic (for example an SQL error due to the database not started) occurs in a method, the client is aware of it when looking in the RemoteException where the Error is wrapped. But when the Error occurs in the constructor of the session bean, everything looks fine form the client point of view.
So what ? replacing every constructor by an empty constructor plus an "do_init()" method doing all the work ??
thanx for advice.

Did you check in the logs? The exception stacktrace could be posted out there.
I have a vague feeling that this is ok.But i would like to confirm it with a code example before saying anything.
