Hi Shiva,
I did never try with iPlanet, but it would take me wunder.
For _updatable_ views I would dare to say no.
And for _read only_ views? The last time I tried (with ATG Dynamo J2EE server) not even in JDBC getting the MetaData for "crawling" into the ER relationships has been supported. So how could the poor container find out what the foreign key is and to which primary key it leads? How could Container Managed Persistence work without that knowledge?
If you find out any other truth, please let me know.
Thomas.

Oh no, would like to revoke my previous posting and dig into EJB spec 2.0 more before saying anything anymore. ...
I had been working on EJB 1.1, without Container Managed Relationships (CMR), how Simon Brown noted in his reply to topic "Why should we use Entity Beans?" from Mahesh Kaila.

Hi, Thanks for you reply, but I would like to add that, the joins could be done by direclty editiing the deployment descriptor SQL. That is how I resolved the issue (ejb 1.1)
