i have my class likethis
----------------------
import java.rmi.RemoteException;
import java.rmi.Remote;
import javax.ejb.*;

public interface Demo extends EJBObject, Remote {

// NB this simple example does not even do a
// lookup in the database
public String demoSelect() throws RemoteException;

}
---------------------
I get followng error while compiling:
Package javax.ejb.8 not found....
WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

hi,
Actually i think the problem is instead of javax.ejb.* u wrote javax.ejb.8, and after changing the syntax u might not saved the file.
Shift+ 8 = *. So please check the file again and save it properly

Also, check that you have the J2EE classes in your CLASSPATH. The JAR file containing these will vary depending on which J2EE server you are using (e.g. JBoss, WebLogic, Websphere, Sun J2EE RI, etc).
Hope that helps...

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
