Universal Test Client is part of the WebSphere Studio Application Developer.
Using the UTC, u can easily test the EJBs that u develop. U need not write a separate test client for this.
After u give a JNDI name to the bean, invoke the test client after starting the test server.
The EJBs currently deployed will be listed. Choose the bean u want to test and call its create method to get an instance.
Once u have the bean instance u can call its various business methods (they'll be available as links)

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
