For a pure web based J2EE app(on application clients involved), since we can store the client states in the HttpSession object in the web tier, can I just forget using Stateful SessionBeans at EJB tier?
If not, under which circumstances I still have to use Stateful SessionBeans. I can see one usage is to use Stateful SessionBeans to perform some business logic which needs a few method calls and information stored between those calls.
Thanks in advance.

For the purposes of storing client state, I would stick with the HttpSession. If you have an EJB that needs to maintain state between calls, then use a Stateful SessionBean.
