Has anyone come up with a tool like a Decision Flow chart to help decide which technology or technique to use ? Something along the lines....
It'll probably be better rendered in HTML with links across the different technologies.

It'll also be a good way to get rid of the folklore surrounding EJBs.

I know these decisions are all interlinked somewhat hence the suggestion that HTML might serve better.
Just the main decision points first , layered over other (minor )decision points.
Also , there will be different routes into the maze.
Isn't it about time these hogs were tied?
Has anyone spotted any folklore in my diagram yet ?

Folklore like "Entity beans are only good for prototyping"...?

Yes , that pretty much comes under folklore but you still read this on a lot of sites.
Also , my diagram suggests that you can only do Entity beans if you are developing components. I think it is possible to use entity beans and leverage maximum re-usability but not develop components. More folklore ?
But if you were developing components I'd question why you are not using EJBs. Another route into the decision maze.
Well, is anyone brave enough to try ?
