I guess it is "job title" in US.

Job band is just one of those various bands that exists in Infy. Honestly I could never understand all those, doesn't sound so simple to me

They are equal to Job title and reflects the role you are playing.

Salary is also tightly coupled with your Job Band .

B - Software Engineer
C - Programmer Analyst
D - Program Manager

and henceforth ..

The salary range is 8-10 lacks.. Can you let me know the job band?

Hi,

With 6 years of experience and salary of around Rs 8 to 10 lacs one could be in Band C.
