Hi,
the ejb-ref element enables an EJB to lookup other EJBs it references using indirection - this allows the deployer to avoid any potential jndi name-space collisions.
However, if a deployer needs to change the jndi-name of an EJB (maybe because that jndi-name is already used) then any non-EJB clients (ie a Swing client on a remote PC) that depends on that jndi-name would have to be changed to the new jndi name as well?
Is the above correct, or am I missing something basic here?

Yes, I think the deployer should change the link in the vendor specific deployment xml file, but not the bean provider change in the code or ebj-ref.
