please give me inputs ...........

You should write in mail that you got an offer from xxx company which is offering me xxx package . write that your current package is less than the industry average for this much of experience. And this would be the only reason for leaving the company.I want to stay long in this company, Please review my salary structure.

Take the idea from others as well..

I would never communicate in writing with the HR department of my company. Better to do that in person, so that you can have a discussion where you state the reasons, and can be sure to avoid any misunderstandings and clarify any questions.

Also, never mention which company made you an offer, and precisely how much it was. If you're worth more, then your company should be willing to pay that, regardless of who else might be willing to pay more or less.

I suggest no mails. Just give a call to your Boss or HR that you want to discuss with them something important and take appointment. Explain them in person that you are underpaid. This gives you more room to discuss and explain them your problems in a better way.

I do not think they will give you hike immediately. You can get hike only as per company policy. But they may come up plans to make you happy like onsite offer etc.,

They will not care if you tell them that you have offer from any other company. They will ask you to go ahead and join the other company. Gone are the days in Satyam when company use to retain employees by offering high package or onsite opportunities(somewhere in 2000).

So, think and plan. Look for opportunities outside, because you will not get hike in Satyam before next appraisals.

Thnx,
Afroz

Hi Karthick,
No company will raise the salary immedieately when we demand and say that we are having offer at some XYZ company. If this is the case everybody will start doing these things for hike.

So the answer would be "Will increase in the next appraisal cycle". Or If you have visa stamped they may send you onsite. If you dont have Visa, then they will try to initiate the processing. Only these things can happen at the most.

So decide what you want and make use of your existing company or leave for a good offer.
