Dear ranchers

I am vijai, currently working for a mid-sized software services firm in bangalore. I am working for the last 2.5 years as a software developer. Recently I have gotten and interview from sabre who have started their offshore center in the whitefiled area in bangalore.

i have seen their website and they are a big company focussing on mainly the airline domain. Can any ranchers please tell me on how this company is to work for from the following

1. Technology
2. people and work culture
3. onsite opportunity
4. pay as compared to other product MNC's in bangalore
5. growth

Thanks in advance
Vijai

dear vijai

i interviewed with them and my feedback is as follows:

salary: slightly above median level but definitely not top of the line.

people: they have a good bunch but technically not that solid. this could be because they are mostly invovled in doing maintenance work from their india center and not doing real product development. also, there are a couple of busines units where the technologies are different. they definitely do not use the latest models and technology. from this perspective i did not feel there will be much growth with them from a technical viewpoint. also i got the feeling that mainly their managers are from the parent company in us. as a result the growth vertically will also be limited. oniste opportunities exist but not like the infosys, wipro type. the managers were not very convincing about this so my guess is this odc is more for bug fixing, maintenance release etc. not sure though...make your own judgement.

if you are looking for exciting work then this is definitely not the place. my 0.02$ only (so ranchers please dont flame me please). from what i have heard from some employees, the workload is not that much...pressure is less...in fact they are sometimes bored also because everything is driven by remote control by onsite team.

use your own judgement...also ask the poster prior to mine as he is a current employee.

Hi,
I am also in the same situation as vijai. I attended interviews also with Sabre. They told me the position was in product development. Is this a good company in terms of salary, work culture, skillsets etc
