If I have the container manage the ralationships between my entity beans, where is the relationship status stored? What happens if I move my application to another server. How is the relationship's current status maintained?

In the DD ejb-jar.xml, the relationships are mentioned. The vendor specific DD mat contain more info mapping the entity to db tables.

If I'm understanding your question right, the answer is that the actual relationships are always implicit in the relationships between the corresponding rows in the relational database that is the persistent store for the CMP's.
