Hi
Today I read an article "a case against EJB" by Chris Mathews in the javaranch journal. As per his article EJBs are not suited for almost all real world applications except for applications those use messaging and transactions heavily. The article also says there won't be any future for the EJBs, unless they improve in many aspects in the coming 2.3 version. Do u all really think this is the case for EJBs. I want to know the future of EJBs and their real time use in the big web applications. As I am going for SCBCD I need to know whether it's worth time to spend time on it.

I've always felt that EJB were an abomination, and especially entity beans.
Ever more people seem to share that view (which is good as I'm not someone with a lot (or any) clout in the industry).
Rod Johnson in his book "Expert one on one J2EE design and development" expresses serious concerns about EJB and basically says to avoid entity beans if there's any alternative and to seriously consider alternatives to sessionbeans.

Hi,
I have just read "a case against EJB" an it is . I am in the process of moving my skills into EJBs and this is not goob news. However I am aware of a number of companies that are investing large amount of money into EJB solutions.
So is there really no future in EJB? Are these company going to lose out or will the demand industry just improve EJBs.
But I agree with the artical, we just have to wait and see.
The could the worst case be industary move out of Java due to the poor development of EJB solutions?
Chris.
