We are currently running WAS v 4.0
EJB level supported is 1.1
I wish to use EJB to perform an "asynchronous" process.
If I had access to EJB 2.0, I could take advantage of ejbTimeout()
However, no such animal exists for 1.1
Possible choices:
Some fancy EJB 1.1 solution
RMI
IBM's MQ
Other?
Any suggestions?
I thank you all for your time

I am not sure what kind of "asynchronous" behavior that you need.
IBM MQ sounds like a straightforward answer because asynchronous service is the major aspect of messaging systems.
By the way, ejbTimeOut() sounds new to me

I am not sure, but I think I have read somewhere that there is a Timer in the new EJB 2.1 spec...
