Hi all,
I am using SUN ONE and to create an entity bean from the Table in the database you have to do following,
1. create entity bean from the table (by choosing "Create from database table" option)
2. create dbschema and do "CMP Mapping" of that bean to it
3. for runtime we have to configure persistent manager 's JNDI names etc
Now, here in step 2 and 3 both we have to provide the jdbc url of the database login etc.
My question is, why we have to do it in 2nd and 3rd place? I saw the dbschema file generated and there it stores everything other than db password BUT that file seems to me not of much use aparently. This two place configuration confuses me and not intuitive.
I looked at JBoss configuration for the entity beans and it seems more intuitive than SUN ONE configuration as there I don't have to configure same thing twice.
Moderators, please avoid moving this thread to SUN ONE forum as I doubt if I would get any replies there.
