I have a project in an ear file which contains an ejb.jar and the project.war file deployed in weblogic 8.1 environment. I am trying to use log4j from the bean to no avail. The war contains non jarred packages in WEB-INF/ directory. The log4j.properties file is in the war under WEB-INF/classes/ directory.
Previous to bundling ejb.jar into ear I had the ejb deployed as a container wide ejb and logging with log4j worked fine. I should also mention that I have the .class ejb files in war under WEB-INF/classes/ so webapp compiles correctly.
Any ideas?

Also log4j.jar in server's classpath weblogic81/server/lib/ directory.
