What's the best way to disable html/jsp directories

in a WAR file. For example, so that the file names at http://www.xxx.com/myapp/jsp directory can't be displayed.

Creating an index-file in your deployment descriptors that displays something else, such as a blank page, may work for you. I'm not sure what will happen if no index-files are specified and the user requests a "default" page. It's probably container-dependent, so you can't be sure what will happen. You could look into what your container does and see if you can change something there, but an index-file would be my choice.
