Over the past few weeks, I noticed that there are a number of queries about indian software companies/salaries.

Why don't we have a place for gathering this information and allow users to query this information? At present, there are too many repeat posts and the information is not organized too.

Mani ,

Good Idea !
We can start the same in this thread only ..We can ask everyone to put their honest information in the following format in this thread

1)Company name /location
2)position / technology
3)Salary /CTC
4)Total/relevant experience

Mani , Do you like to start ?

I was thinking more of an anonymous way of collecting info. I am sure nobody wants to reveal their own salaries and company.

Great thoughts !!! Cheers to Mani and Rajesh

Guys one point here. Please provide the proper name of the company as that helps. Providing the company name as "Indian MNC" provides no useful info.

Hello All ,

I see that although 9 members have joined only 2 members have updated the details in database .Request you to add record for yourself with correct details ..The record added will be totally anonymous as it does not record which member has updated the same ..If you want to hide some column details pl keep it blank but do not add wrong information pl !

I can bet it is not the same kind of figure in all the business units at Oracle so you cannot standardize what they pay based on one record. Moreover Oracle gives bonus which is not covered as a part of CTC.

Rajesh,

Can you add one more column "Onsite trips"..This would give a fair idea about the onsite opportunities in the company..?

People might be selecting the best companies from the available list, but there lot many other companys where people dream to work.

It would be better if there is another row called "Other" where we can enter our dream company if it is not in the list..This may help in finding some very good company but missied in the list..

Unfortunately I will not be able to add any more choices to the same poll because as per follwing instruction from yahoo site

**************

Polls are a great way to get feedback from your group.
You can create a question with up to 25 choices.
Results will be automatically tallied until you close the poll.
If you edit a poll's question, choices, or number of choices, the poll will be restarted and you will lose existing votes.

**************

What I can do is to create a one more poll with the remaining company names ..You can put the name of the company here and I will add all at the same time in second poll.
Pl rush your entries before 31st August EOD IST. (Sounds like some lucky draw )

At present in dream company poll current rankings are

1)ORACLE
2)SAP
3)INFOSYS

So , clearly product companies are ahead of service companies ..Although this poll gives general idea everyone might be intersted what does make this companies better ? For this I am planning to create database based on different areas in the companies e.g. training / leaves / loans /onsite / processes etc ..Request you all to give your inputs on what else I can add in this database to make this useful for everyone ..

Thanks

To start with I have created a database at

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/salary_table/database?method=reportRows&tbl=4

Request you all to participate ! I have seen there are already 74 members in the group ..If everyone partcipate then the database will be useful for everyone ..Also , can someone put the link to some other discussion board where we can get some more people in different technolgies to participate ?

Thanks
