I have 2+ years of experience in Java/J2EE.
I have got offers from TechMahindra, Kolkata and I-Flex, Bangalore.
i-Flex is offering 40k/A more than TechMahindra.
I am realy confused about where to join.

Can anyone please suggest me?
My current job location is Kolkata.

If it's the question of companies, my suggestion would be i-Flex. Better company and good onsite chances.

Look at the pay package.
As you are in Kolkata, and your living cost should be very much less than that will be in B'lore.
If the pay package is about same, and as you and Tech Mahindra are in kolkta, so I suggest you to join Tech Mahindra, though I-Flex is no doubt a better option.

Mahindra British telecom is a big company.
They are part of British Telecom.
Its a good company too and since they have office in calcutta I think you will
get good opportunity and
"Gharer chele ghore thakai bhalo ki hobe ilish mach chere idli dhoshar dike chute"
I have 9 yrs of Telecom Experinece I worked in Ushacomm before and all my ex- colleagues joined in MBT. If you want I can give you references also

I think i flex is anyway better than Tech Mahindra.

You can be at your native place at later stage, so this should not be a criteria, but yes cost of living at bangalore is almost 50% more than kolkatta.
Now a days lots of company are coming at Kolkatta also IBM, Wipro,CTS and capgemini.
Tech Mahindra is no way good, in past (MBT) did lay off also.

If they have become Tech Mahindra and no more with BT then this is a point whether to go for Tech Mahindra.

Saurav next point is why are you leaving your current company only for salary or you or not foreseeing growth.

Then if you are really eagre to change go for CapGemini (they are hiring in calcutta i heard) ,IBM,WIPRO
CTS I wont suggest its full of politics (if you are good at it then go for it)

Also regarding layoff MBT did layoff in 2001 (After that I am not sure)in India people wont think about it for some years to come looking at the kind of job oppurtunity there.
Iflex feedback from my friend is not good he worked there for 3 months and left to join CTS.

If you are eagre to go for I bilieve go for Google,Yahoo,Verizon,Accenture,
Go to Bangalore for the top brands.

I personally believe being born and brought up in Calcutta if you are not working in calcutta work outside India but thats a pure personal opinion after graduation I worked for 5 yrs in Calcutta only then came to USA and plan to retire in Calcutta off course.

Calcutta is cheap and home so either yu can grab the oppurtunity or look for something good.
Choice is yours man.....
Just take it easy......

Hi,

I won't prefer Tech Mahindra. I have very bad experience of this company.
Few years back, I had 4 rounds of interview with this company. Finally
the HR person told me that they will send me an offer in 1-2 days. Their HR send me an offer with Contract position (I applied for Permanent one. I asked him abt that, then he said we have changed our policy.

Second experience :

My sister worked with them for 6 yrs as Project Lead. After 6 yrs she got another good opportunity, so she resigned and gave 2 months notice. But still they refused to give her relieve letter.

Third experience :

My husband appeared for an interview at their pune office. They promised to
reimburse travelling expenses incurred for the interview. After submitting due receipts also, they never reimbursed those expenses.

He got selected in that interview and got the offer letter. The offer letter was dated on 20th Jan 2006 and sent by courier on 21st Jan 2006 and as per the clause in that letter, the offer was not valid after 20th June 2006. We received that letter on 23rd Jan 2006. It shows how careless they are.

Thanks & Regards,

Grishma

That's really unprofessional. I too had pretty bad experiences regarding reimbursement of travel bills, but not getting reimbursed at all is extreme.
