How naming and directory services persists the java objects we store in them.
You may take example of any naming & directory server.

There are many ways a particular DS store a java object.

1) We can store it as serialized object
2) we can extend Referenceable to the java object and many more,

I think there are some api which comes along with netscape directory server.

I think this is what you are looking for, i can give more details if iam talking the same thing what you want.
