Hi, I have a question regarding sesson facade J2EE pattern. Is that true session facade only makes sense when using in EJB? If there is no EJBs in my application, in stead, we have some DAOs (data access object), does it still make sense to use session facade? What is the way they are communicating? Thanks.

hi,
even if u are not using any entity beans it makes sense to use sessionfascade as entity/dao will give u a persistance mechanism.

Hi,

I think Karthik is Right here and Session facade can be very well used with DAO's. Here is an example for the same. Just try and let me know if you still need some more clarification.

SessionBean method :

And the impl class 'UtilDAOImpl' have this method storeAuditTrialData(ATDO). You could use normal JDBC or JDO/CMP to achive the persistance.

hope this helps.
Thanks,
