Dear all,

I have set the env. variable PATH to include the locaiton of <install_dir>/bin and CLASSPATH to include <install_dir>/lib/j2ee.jar. However, it still prompts the error message " 'j2ee' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. " when I entered command "j2ee -verbose". What is the problem?

Regards,
Joe

Based on the error message, it seems that you are installing J2EE under Windows environment. Thus, does the path seperator be \, not /?

Solution to solve this problem

1. change '/' to '\'
2. echo path and classpath
example echo %PATH%
echo 'CLASSPATH%
please check answer are correct or not ???

3. test %PATH%
example : cd %PATH%
if this ok , you can use j2ee command.

Good luck ...

The PATH = C:\Sun\AppServer\bin
The CLASSPATH = C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\j2ee.jar

Am I right?

YES. Does this make you execute the j2ee command?

PATH=.;C:\Sun\AppServer\bin;%PATH%
CLASSPATH=.;C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\j2ee.jar;%CLASSPATH%
