Does this book address the XML security issues/api's like DS, XML Encryption, SAML, XAML?

Does this book address JSF 1.0 or JSF1.1 ?

"J2EE 1.4: The Big Picture" how big is the picture? Is it going to be toooo big ( time consuming) to go through? Did the authors address the issue of "ease of reading"?

It may mention those topics, but it wont be a in depth discussion.

According to the author, http://www.coderanch.com/t/314461/EJB-JEE/java/Win-copy-EE-Big-Picture , the book contains only around 300 pages. It just tries to give an overview of some of the important technogloes.

You can also find the link to the TOC of the book from the above thread.

Hi,

The answer to first couple questions is no. It's big picture, more about concepts than the absolute latest specific technology.

The picture is big but high, i.e. just 320 pages or so to cover everything in the book.

So it's definitely not time consuming, not something you have to plow through. It is also an easy read. Reviewers told us it was just enjoyable to read, not confusing or something you have to read five times before you know what it's talking about.

It's not a heavy book. It includes, for instance, comparisons of stateless session beans to the clerk in the coffee store who never remembers you from the last time but will always get you the coffee you ask for.
