Hey,

So, there are at least three puns/subtle references on the cover of the book here. www.bigpicture-books.com/coverbig.jpg

Who thinks they've found one or more?

Regis Tree -> Reigistry?

If the Microsoft lawyers rearrange all the letters in the words on the cover, you could be sued.

The person walking in lower left corner could sit on an airplane?

Removing all the buildings and holding the book up to a mirror spells a dirty word.

Am I close?

Oh my!

Yes, registry indeed. That's one of'em. Another one is a word and an image, and another one is just a picture of something in J2EE. Not sure if it's so punny.

I didn't know about the mirror part and a dirty word. I'll check that out! There's something dirty on there but not a word per se. Could be anything storable by SQL.

Microsoft lawyers sue everyone.

The Bean Pool I presume?

And...

To serve and protect vs. To protect and serve?

Or

The error in "The Java Server Pages" building, as opposed to JavaServer...

Yes! Well done. That's my favorite one on the cover.

There's one more, a specific type of thing in J2EE, way over at the right hand edge of the cover.

That's on there. But I'm lookin' for people to find the SUBTLE stuff. ;>

There's the little bookmobile things and the building they're outside; it's not really a pun but the building represents something and the bookmobile things are kinda fun.

Yep, you can tell by the poodles outside. ;> And since it's a repository of information, and the bookmobile dirty read outside....it's just kind of moderately cute and I enjoy it. That's all.
