Calling EJB from another app server??  RSS feed

I have to call ejb deployed on appserver 1 from an application deployed on appserver2.
How do i go about doing this??

Calling isn't the problem - unless the called EJB is local-only. But you'll need to code a lookup to locate the second bean's home interface.

The only tricky thing about this is that you may be talking to 2 different naming servers, so you'll have to pay attention to requesting the EJB Home from the server that it's registered under.

some people do prefer using RMI for this purpose.

You still need to define the context of the other server though.
