Chandrashekhar,
Welcome to JavaRanch!

IBM has a good tutorial. It assumes you are familiar with the basics of EJBs (such as what an entity bean is), but this is necessary to understand CMRs anyway.

Hi
Jeanne Boyarsky

Thanks for ur reply

I have one another problem in CMR. I defined 2 entyties. Analyst & Stock.
Analyst has fields to be persisted as name, analystID & stocks. Stock has fields to be persisted as name, tickerSymbol, rating, anlyst.

In StockHome we have one method findRatedStock() which returns Collection. For this finder
method I wrote a query
SELECT DISTICT OBJECT(S)
FROM Analyst a, Stock s
WHERE s MEMBER OF a.stocks

While generating SQL it is throwing error that can't find cmr field stocks.

Could anybody suggest me the Solution

Chandrashekhar,
A couple things to try:
1) Double check you created the CMR field
2) Try to navigate that relationship (get an Analyst by primary key and try to loop through its stocks to make sure they are valid.)

Is it same to assum "DISTICT" is a typo? Sometimes app servers give cryptic error messages when they don't understand something. What app server/IDE are you using?

Hi Jeanne
Thanks 4 reply

These fields are available in the fields tobe persisted dia. box.
And i forgot 2 tell U that I've used tickerSymbol & analystID as primary key fields.

Their is no mistek such as "DISTICT" i wrote it correctly over their.
I'm using j2sdkee1.3.1 build 1.3.1-b17. For practical purpose we r going 2 use Oracle Application Server. Hope u will show me further path.

Thanks in advance

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
