Hi All

I am encountering the following exception while trying to deploy the CMP jar file.

Unable to deploy EJB: EJBModule1.jar from EJBModule1.jar:

[EJB:011017]Error while reading 'META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml'. The error was:

Query:
EJB Name: ProductBean
Method Name: findByName
Parameter Types: (java.lang.String)

SELECT OBJECT(a ) FROM PRODUCT AS a WHERE =>> NAME <<= = ?1

EJB QL compilation encountered error: [EJB:013080]
Problem, the path expression/Identifier 'NAME' starts with an identifier: 'NAME'. The identifier 'NAME', which can be either a range variable identifier or a collection member identifier, is required to be declared in the FROM clause of its query or in the FROM clause of a parent query. 'NAME' is not defined in the FROM clause of either its query or in any parent query.

Action, rewrite the query paying attention to the usage of 'NAME'.

Can anyone please help me out as it is my first CMP bean and I want ot to run.

Please check the query

SELECT OBJECT(a ) FROM PRODUCT AS a WHERE =>> NAME <<= = ?1

I think it should be

SELECT OBJECT(a) FROM PRODUCT AS A WHERE A.NAME =>> NAME <<=?1

Thanks!
This helps me, too! (Even 3 + years later). This is what I love about the Javaranch.

Although there seems to be no place for errata for this book, I have not seen if he fixed this in the third edition source code. I am using the 2nd.

It is still a pretty good book.
