java.io.IOException: Cannot allocate memory

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
My program reads from the database and writes to a file.

1. I am running this on Weblogic 8.1
2. Linux OS.

This program has worked many times before without throwing this exception and is also working now (without me making any changes)
I would like to find the root cause of the problem to ensure that this exception is not thrown again.

The java.io.IOException is thrown while writing to the file. Can anyone tell me what are the possible causes for this.

Thanks.

Hi Preeti,

Look in your startWebLogic/startManagedWebLogic scripts for this parameter:

This variable overrides the standard memory arguments passed to Java. The example above specifies 128MB of initial memory size and 256MB as the maximum memory size. Try to increase the memory, but setting both parameters to 512 should be more than enough.
Regards.

Hi Valentin.
Like Joe Ess says, this is a duplicate topic. (Sorry ) I have put in more details in the other forum (I/O and Streams).
Thanks.
