Am I getting underpaid 3.5 Yrs 6.25 L

Hi All,
I have recently joined a software Company in Pune as Sr. Software Engineer.My Package is 6.25L with 10% Variable ( this depends on your performance and only get partially paid at the end of the year)..My Skills are J2EE ( Struts,JSP,Servlets,Core Java,swings,Applets,Hibernate) .I have about 2 yrs of exp in a good CMM Level 5 Company.Since I am new to pune , i wanted to know salary packages here.Also if it is low ,Can you Please suggest probable list of good companies where I can thought of trying then.

Just to clarify in case you have missed,my total experience is 3.5 yrs but as I mentioned my experience in last CMM Level 5 Company is 2 years...

You are getting good package as per industry standards. May be you can see some companies paying more but same time you can see some companies paying less also. I feel you salary is good and most of companies paying similar kind of salary.

I dont know which company you guys work, 3.5 years and 6.5 Lakhs salary is very good. when i joined the big 3 letter company in bangalore 2 years back with 4.5 yrs of J2EE experience and 4 sun/ibm certifications, the company offered me 6 Lakhs and 50K bonus as joining & relocation.. and i left that company after completing 1 year. Now i am in the US, 7 years of exp in J2EE, 8 certifications from SUN /IBM, thinking of career back in India. The career in the US is good in terms of work life balance/money etc, but some thing is lacking (its all personal)

Can you guys guide me in selecting the company, becos i dont want to do the same mistake again, I have 7 yers exp on J2EE all 5.5 years in different CMM-5 companies and 1.5 years of consultancy in the US, including team leading experience. Can you guys point me some url of the comapanies I could consider for 12 Lakhs - 13 Lakhs salary per annum , is that a too much of money i am asking. I am sure if I go back to that 3 letter company they will not offer more than 8L, becos i have many friends there, they say, their increment % is 5 ever year.

Bobby, you will need to look for jobs in product companies for that kind of salary. There are so many of them in Bangalore, like BEA, Oracle, Yahoo, Manhattan Associates, RSA Security, Verisign, Dell etc.
