We are developing content managing portlet and I would like suggestions on how to view items in folder collections in portlet view.

Currently we have numerous documents stored in our database. We would like to have the users be able to organize these documents into folder groups (with the "folder" reference objects collected and stored in the same database)

When the portal is initially viewed I would like the collection of folders to be listed first, and as I click on each folder I would like to have them expand like a tree view.

In addition, I would like to have the ablility to have folders within folders. And when a folder is destroyed I would like it to destroy the actual documents in the folder and not just the reference object.
=============================================

I know this is pretty tall order to be able to explain in such a short space. I have an idea of where to go, I'm wonering if there are any references I could use as I develop this project. (Design patterns, framework, etc..)

Thanks for the help

Put the moon back where you found it! We need it for tides and poetry and stuff. Like this tiny ad:
