Hi Guys,

The background is that I am trying to modify an application to use OC4J's connection pooling / caching. I am new to this area and I find myself a bit confused about the following:

1) What is the difference between connection pooling and connection caching and which should I use for a heavily used web application?
2) I need to use the data-sources.xml to get the db details from the application I am working on - I understand how to do this using JNDI but will it make a difference as to what implementation of the above I use? (i.e. connection pooling or connection caching)

Thanks in advance!

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
