Set up J2EE at home?  RSS feed

hi, i want to be able to run some J2EE aps at home for practice and learning purposes, but it is to my understanding that i need to set up a application server..how can i go about doing this.. i am a novice to J2EE so i have no idea how to set up a workstation.

Basically you go to www.jboss.org and download the Jboss application server.
After unpacking it, you can run it from <Jboss_installdir>/bin/. For linux/unix you run ./run.sh, for windows you run run.bat. These will start the default server, which should be enough for your first go.
