Hello Ranchers,

Finally got some breakthrough after a gruelling 4 months in bench..

Got an offer for 6 LPA from one of the top three Indian MNC's. I have about 2 yrs and 5 months exp in ITIL Framework. Is this the right pay for this niche skill?? My current CTC is 4.2 LPA in an American MNC. I would serve as a ITIL Process consultant in my new firm.. So please advice..

Regards,
Sathya

If it is in Chennai, Then it's better then best one.

Thanks Sharma...

By the way, could some Ranchers please explain the scope of ITIL in the long run(may be 6 - 8 years from now).. That would be of great help to me..

With all due respect, I never cease to be amazed by questions like this. How can anything in IT be predicted over that long a timeframe? (More often the question is "What is the role of Java/J2EE in 5/6/7/8/9/10 years?")
Ask yourself if you -or anyone- could have predicted todays role of ITIL 6-8 years ago, then you might be in a position to answer the above question. If not, then it's unlikely that someone can predict its role 6-8 years from now.

Just my 2 cents.

Hello Sharma,

You are right.. It is Information Technology Infrastructure Library. As you must have known it is a Process Framework or you can call it as a set of Best Practices for improving the quality of IT. I would be joining as a ITIL Process consultant. I am also planning to take up certifications in COBIT Process framework shortly... Just thought whether this career path would be good for me in a long run... I hope you must have understood.

Thanks!

Sathya
