Hi All,

I'm developing an application that sends and recieves encrypted emails to/from Outlook users. To do that, I've setup a Directory server (Sun One) to keep Outlook user certificates.
I'm new about this, so I'd like to have helps from you for quickly moving forward. I have some questions:

1. I don't want to request a CA certificate from Verisign, how can I create self-signed certificates?

2. How do I create a .p12 file from that self-signed certificate in order to import it to Outlook?.

Really urgent! Please help.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

you can use OpenSSL or keytool.
A quite good manual how to create self-signed certificates
and setup an own CA can be found here:

http://www.dylanbeattie.net/docs/openssl_iis_ssl_howto.html

Bye
