Hi friends,
i was struggling to connect to a ldap server.i have done that successfully.

Now i want to create my own Directory server which will allow or deny different users to use it.


plz explain different steps(what all needs to be done) to do it.

Creating your own LDAP server? um... I feel not a good idea unless you are doing this to learn some client-server programming.

Modularize your requirements based on the functional domains such that you see and understand a very small set of problems instead of one whole big pile. Then try to implement the bottom-top approach for both client and server side and test each layer as you complete it.

I know this may sound very abstract but unfortunately this is in the same level as your question.

Start doing some client-server programming and post any questions or issues as you come across, which somebody here in Javaranch will be able to answer clearly.
