Starting With EJB's  RSS feed

Hi all,

I am starting with EJB and want to get some pointers from all u EJB guys.
Can anyone please suggest me a Problem Statement / Assignment exercise for the same.
Also which server shd be more suitable to use JBoss or Web Logic ?

Since JBoss is free, it is good to use when learning. For an assignment, you can check a school website. cs.nyu.edu usually has good ones available.

From my recollection of what it was like to get started, I'd avoid for your first pass any tools that purport to make it easier to write EJBs. That includes GUIs like JBuilder, or tools like XDoclet. Not that they don't have their place, but when you first get started they just become yet another thing to introduce confusion or problems. I found it was loads easier just to manually write my own deployment descriptors and use Ant to assemble everything. Eventually you might want to use other tools, but for "hello world" I'd just stick to something like Ant and an editor.
